Swasthya Kalyan Blood Bank celebrated its 24th Foundation Day on 20th May 2018 at Birla Auditorium Jaipur. Women voluntary blood donors were honored with “Rakt Gaurav Award” under Couple, Institutional & Individual category. The function was graced by His Excellency Governor of Assam Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, First Lady of Assam Mrs. Prem Mukhi, National Vice President BJP Shri Shyam Jajoo, National Spokesperson & MP BJP Mrs. Meenakshi Lekhi, Past State President Rajasthan & Past MP Dr. Mahesh Chand Sharma and Jaipur MP Shri Ramcharan Bohra. Dr. S. S. Agarwal Honorary Secretary Swasthya Kalyan Blood Bank told in his address that in spite of their biological predisposition Women are no less enthusiastic towards blood donation since they realize that one unit of their blood will save 3 lives. “It is the first ceremony of its kind in this State or probably in the whole country that women blood donors are honored today so that they continue their effort towards increasing their percentage contribution from the present level of just 10%”, said Dr. Agarwal. Prof. Jagdish Mukhi appreciated the feat achieved by Swasthya Kalyan Blood Bank of 3 Lakh donations, 4000 groups associated with it and distribution of blood components to 9 lakh patients during this period of 24years. Shri Shyam Jajoo, Mrs. Meenakshi Lekhi, Dr. Mahesh Chand Sharma and Shri Ramcharan Bohra also admired the endeavor for creating awareness among women so that India can achieve self-sufficiency in blood requirements.
